Find Itawamba County Court Schedule

To pin down an Itawamba County court schedule, start with the notice or citation in hand and match it to the court named there. The date may surface in a case docket, a posted calendar, a paper notice, or the records kept by court staff. Each serves its own purpose. Recheck the setting close to the appearance date, tuck the most recent order in with the case papers, and let the court on the notice settle any doubt when a date looks off or has moved.

How the Itawamba County Court Calendar Works

No one calendar holds every Itawamba County court date. A setting can sit in four places: an electronic MEC/PAMEC docket, a Circuit or Chancery calendar, a filed notice or posted docket, or the records of the clerk, Court Administrator, or city court. Those sources may agree, but none substitutes for another. The First Circuit calendar itself warns that it is general, subject to change, and may omit settings. Treat a public calendar as a lead, not as a signed order or official notice.

Circuit settings rest on the First Circuit district calendar plus the Circuit Clerk's case record. Chancery posts its own monthly public calendar. Justice Court lists recurring court days but offers no live online docket. Fulton, Mantachie, and Tremont publish no official municipal calendar online, so a city citation and the municipal clerk come first. Whatever court the paper names controls the route.

Itawamba County Circuit Calendar Limits

The First Circuit calendar sits behind a registered username and password. Send registration questions to astewart@leecoms.com. Read its warning before trusting any date pulled from that system. The calendar is general information. It may not show every setting, and it can change without notice. A missing date there does not prove the court has no setting.

For Circuit trial and civil-motion settings, the Court Administrator is the working contact. The office sits at 200 W. Jefferson Street, second floor, Room 247, Tupelo, MS 38804. The phone is 662-432-2360, and hours are weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parties use the administrator's process for civil motion dates. The same process covers agreed setting orders, trial-date requests, and cancellation routing. A cancellation also needs a Notice of Cancellation filed with the Circuit Clerk. A copy goes to the administrator.

The court's official calendar access notice explains the point plainly. Any calendar entry still needs a direct check against the case docket. Or it needs confirmation from the clerk.

First Circuit's calendar page shows the registered access gate and its limitation notice.

Itawamba County Court Date Lookups

Begin with the most specific paper in hand. A citation, summons, notice, signed order, or recent docket sheet names the court. It usually offers the safest case reference. Circuit and Chancery electronic matters can be checked through PAMEC. Circuit calendar access takes registration, while the Chancery monthly calendar is open to the public. For Justice Court and municipal matters, the published fallback is a call to the clerk. It is not an online date search.

  1. Read the citation, notice, order, or last docket entry and identify the court, county, municipality, and case number.
  2. For a Circuit matter, check the electronic case docket if available, then use the registered First Circuit calendar as a second source.
  3. For a Chancery matter, open the monthly calendar, follow a linked setting where present, and compare the county and cause number.
  4. For Justice Court, compare the citation with the recurring court-day pattern and call 662-862-4315 to confirm the actual setting.
  5. For a Fulton, Mantachie, or Tremont ticket, call the city office named by the citation. Do not replace a municipal date with the Justice Court schedule.
  6. When a matter is continued, reset, cancelled, or removed, locate the newer order or contact the clerk or administrator before appearing.

Save the case-specific source for last. It offers the best shot at catching a setting that was rescheduled after a calendar went up.

Itawamba County Chancery Calendar Key

The First Chancery monthly calendar is public. It marks judges with the letters M, B, MM, and T. A date with no link means a first setting. A linked date opens more detail. Email PDF Orders of Setting and requests to remove a matter from the docket to ccourtadministrator@co.lee.ms.us. Call the assigned Chancellor's office for anything else.

Remember that this monthly view is a calendar, not a complete file. It can place matters from several counties on one district schedule. Check the county beside the Cause # before reading a result as an Itawamba County setting.

The monthly display lays out the judge key and its linked-date structure.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

A Chancery setting page doubles as a handy local field map. It can show the judge, court, hearing date and time, Cause #, county, caption, attorneys in order, nature of the matter, and estimated time. Notes may flag that a judge leaves at noon. They may also flag that a matter was continued, or that it moved to another judge. Circuit term lists run at a different level of detail. They carry county, date, judge, civil or criminal term, plea notation, or holiday context.

DateThe scheduled day. It may be a first setting, motion hearing, trial setting, or term date.
TimeThe listed start time for the setting. It does not promise the exact moment a case will be called.
Judge and courtThe presiding court information. On district pages, check the county as well as the judge.
Cause # and captionThe identifiers used to match the date to the correct court file and parties.
Nature and estimated timeThe matter type and planned hearing length, which assist the court in scheduling.
Status noteA continuation, reassignment, conclusion-time note, or other calendar-specific change.

Copy the cause number exactly as it appears. That beats guessing a format from a sample calendar page.

Itawamba County Chancery Setting Detail

A linked public Chancery setting can reveal far more than the month grid. The district's setting pages show the judge, court, date, time, Cause #, county, caption, attorneys, nature, and estimated time. Continuation or reassignment language may appear too. That verifies the setting context. Yet it still cannot replace the chronological docket or the full set of filed papers.

A public sample makes the split clear. Calendar information looks ahead to a hearing, while the case docket records events over time. When an order is needed after a setting, go through the clerk or eligible PAMEC access. That is how to pursue the filed record.

Itawamba County Justice Court Schedule

Itawamba County Justice Court keeps a simple rhythm. Civil court sits on the first and third Tuesday of each month, and criminal court follows on the second and fourth. That pattern points you toward the right session. That rotation is not a live docket. The county publishes no general online search or daily Justice Court calendar. Treat the Tuesday rotation as a frame, not a promise.

Got a county-road citation, a misdemeanor, a preliminary hearing, or a small civil matter? Go by the date printed on your court paper. Then confirm it with Justice Court at 104 Joe Staub Road in Fulton. You can also call 662-862-4315. A city ticket is different. It belongs to whichever municipal court is named on the citation. Fulton, Mantachie, and Tremont post no official online calendars.

Note: The Tuesday rotation describes regular court days. It is not a guarantee that a particular matter will be heard on a given date.

When a Court Date Moves

Court dates in Itawamba County move through paperwork, not guesswork. In Circuit Court, a civil motion date is set through an agreed setting process. A hearing that falls through is cancelled by filing a Notice of Cancellation with the Circuit Clerk. Copy the administrator as well. Want a trial date? Ask in writing. An Agreed Order Setting Trial then travels through the administrator to the assigned judge. Whenever a calendar changes, trace it to the source. Check the new order, notice, docket entry, or direct confirmation from the court.

Chancery pages sometimes say continued or reassigned. "Reset" is a handy plain word for a later date. But the docket or order controls. Criminal cases carry firm deadlines. A trial-setting order must come within 60 days after arraignment or waiver, and a setting no later than 270 days, subject to authorized continuances. On the civil side, Rule 40 generally requires at least five days' notice before a trial docket is set and at least 20 days before trial, unless the rule allows otherwise.

Itawamba County Calendar Notice Rules

A calendar alone is not official notice. The Circuit calendar says exactly that. The Chancery calendar adds local instructions for setting and removing cases. Notice can also arrive another way. It might be a paper mailed to you, a signed order, or the clerk's file. Keep the most recent court-issued document. Check it against anything you pulled from an online docket search.

When a setting looks wrong, call the office that matches the court. Circuit questions go to the Circuit Clerk at 662-862-3511 or the Court Administrator. Chancery questions belong with the Chancery Clerk at 662-862-3931 or the assigned Chancellor's office. Whoever set the date is best placed to say whether it still stands.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

There is no single countywide fix for a missed setting in Itawamba County. Contact the court named on the notice right away. Ask what order, reset request, or appearance is required. If you have a lawyer, call your lawyer promptly too. Do not count on an online calendar. It will not reveal the next step.

Missed a setting? A missed appearance can have serious case-specific consequences, so contact the court or clerk named on the notice immediately to confirm the current status.

Ask for the active setting and whether a written order, motion, or new appearance is required before acting.

For a city matter, begin with the city court or clerk on the citation because no countywide municipal remedy was published.
